Besides the above mandates and functions of NHDC, long term objectives are but not limited to the following:

• Provide housing to lowest income groups Develop low cost housing techniques Enable easy access to safe and affordable housing Prevent the growth of slump & squatter settlements.
• Improve the overall human health & hygiene

Our Scope

In order to achieve an optimal cost benefit ratio, low cost housing techniques will need to be researched and developed. The target group shall be fixed according to the prevailing government policy.

• The housing shortage will be eased.
• There would be improvement in the overall human health & hygiene.
• The construction will create employment opportunities and contribute to the overall economy of the country.
• The skills of artisans would be upgraded; Development of slums & squatter settlements will be reduced/ prevented.
• Greater supply of housing will lead to affordable rent.
